Why Dentistry?
This is one such question that probably every candidate asks himself and then fails to find an appropriate answer that can justify the reason for selecting this profession.

Dentistry” – once considered as a part of medical profession has come way ahead as a new technical field. It has grown in itself and there seems to be no end to it. This field attracts a never ending advancements and technical knowledge that will keep you at par with any other profession. In India this is still an emerging profession that has stood out and gaining respect in the society. This field no doubt will fetch you bread and butter but in due course will surely get a lasting fame in your community.

The brighter aspect of this profession is the lack of such skillful professionals in India and many other countries. It is estimated that there is about 1dentist per 20,000 in an urban setup and 1 in 3, 50,000 in rural setup. In addition as the globalization is taking grip in our country so is the awareness and demand for dental professions. The ideal ratio as give by WHO is 1:1000 and still we are way to behind this. So be proud that you are now a part of this profession and best of luck.
